Easter table decorations

Easter table decorations should be colorful and associated with spring. However, with present weather we lack that spring mood. So if we can't see spring ouside, let's see it at least on our Easter tables. Sometimes simple ideas will change everything, like material napkin folded in the shape of a bunny, and the effect will be surprising. See some inspiring ideas.

Wielkanocne dekoracje stołu powinny być kolorowe i kojarzyć się z wiosną. Jednak przy obecnej pogodzie trochę brakuje nam tego wiosennego nastroju. Skoro nie ma wiosny za oknem, to niech przynajmniej zagości na naszych świątecznych stołach. Czasami wystarczą bardzo proste dodatki, jak materiałowa serwetka złożona na kształt zająca, a efekt będzie zaskakujący. Zobaczcie kilka inspirujących pomysłów.

I bought very interesting egg paint. I have to admit that the result is the same as on the packaging. It's gold - silver reflections are made with a special foil. The preparation of these eggs was not such an easy task. You have to do things very quickly, because the egg dries very fast, and to dry eggs foil won't stick. The colder the eggs the paint dries slowly, it is best to paint them still hot after boiling.

Kupiłam bardzo ciekawe farbki do jajek. Musze przyznać, że efekt końcowy jest identyczny jak na opakowaniu. Swoje złoto - srebrne refleksy zawdzięczają specjalnym folią. Przygotowanie tych jaj wcale nie było takim łatwym zadaniem. Trzeba wszystko robić bardzo szybko, bo jajka błyskawicznie wysychają, a do suchych nie przylepi się folia. Im zimniejsze jajka tylko wolniej schnie farba, najlepiej malować je jeszcze gorące po gotowaniu.

W zestawie są: rękawiczki, farbki i folie.

First we have to make hard-boiled eggs. It would be better to buy ones with white eggshells, but unfortunately I could not get them anywhere. The lighter shell, the color will be prettier.

Najpierw gotujemy jajka na twardo. Najlepiej byłoby kupić takie z białymi skorupkami, ale ja niestety nigdzie nie mogłam ich dostać. Im jaśniejsza skorupka, tym ładniejsze wyjdą barwy.

Paint tubes need to be put in a hot water, to dissolve them. Then energetically shake each one of them, and cut the tip.

Farbki trzeba włożyć go gorącej wody, żeby się rozpuściły. Następnie energicznie wstrząsnąć każdą z nich i obciąć czubek.

On hand we give about 10-15 drops of paint.

  Na rękę dajemy około 10-15 kropel farby.

Importatnt is to use  dry and warm eggs. We roll them in hands to make them perfectly covered by the paint.

Ważne aby jajko było suche i ciepłe. Obtaczamy je w rękach tak, aby dokładnie pokryła je farba.

When we feel that the egg begins to dry out, and the glove sticks to it, we can stick foil. If the egg is sticky enough, it wouldn't be a problem for us. But make it quickly, before it dries.

Gdy czujemy, że jajko zaczyna wysychać, a rękawiczka się do niego przylepia, możemy przyklejać folię. Jeśli jajko jest odpowiednio lepkie nie powinno nam to sprawić większego problemu. Jednak róbmy to szybko, zanim wyschnie.

Foil won't stick to wet egg.

Na mokre jajko folia się nie przyklei. 

And this is the result, I'm happy, because eggs look really amazing.

A oto efekt końcowy, jestem zadowolona, bo jajka prezentują się wyjątkowo.

Bunny attack

Because rabbits can be an inspiration not only for Easter! You can find a lot of interesting things designed on the model of this cute pets. I personally really like the annual exhibition of bunnies in the "Stary Browar" in Poznan (Poland), this year of course we could see there also mint-colored figures. See a portion of bunny products.

Bo zające mogą być inspiracją nie tylko na Wielkanoc! Można znaleźć wiele designerskich i ciekawych rzeczy zaprojektowanych na wzór tych uszatych zwierzątek. Ja osobiście bardzo lubię doroczną wystawę zajęcy w Starym Browarze w Poznaniu, w tym roku nie zabrakło oczywiście figurek w kolorze mięty. Zobaczcie porcję zajęczych produktów.

DIY painted, glass candlestick for a tealight.

DIY malowany, szklany świecznik.

The result is really interesting. Painted patterns reflect on the wall, and the flame of a tealight makes it gently waving. Something beautiful.

Efekt końcowy jest bardzo ciekawy. Namalowane wzory odbijają się na ścianie, a płomień świeczki sprawia, że delikatnie falują. Coś pięknego.

We will need:

-candlestick

(mine is from Ikea, it was filled with wax candle, when burned,

I washed it and I got candlestick for a tealight)

-scissors

-adhesive tape,

-brush,

-template,

(you can find any on the Internet, or draw your own)

-paint to painting on glass,

-glass contour paint

Będziemy potrzebować:

-świecznik,

(mój jest z Ikei, wcześniej była w nim woskowa świeczka, gdy się wypaliła, 

umyłam go i został sam świecznik na podgrzewacz)

-nożyczki,

-taśmę klejącą,

-pędzelek,

-szablon,

(można znaleźć dowolny w Internecie lub narysować swój własny)

-farbę do malowania po szkle,

-farbkę konturową do szkła

Template should be cut into several pieces to make it easier to fit the oval candlestick. Template will be our help to make the contour.

Szablon należy pociąć na kilka części, aby łatwiej dopasować go do owalnego świecznika. Szablon będzie dla nas wyznacznikiem jak prowadzić kontur.

Next use adhesive tape to stick the temptate inside the candlestick.

Następnie za pomocą taśmy klejącej od środka przyklejamy szablon.

Follow the temptate and outline all edges with contour paint. Important here is a steady hand and steady pressure on the tube, which was a bit difficult for me. Wait until dry.

Wzorując się szablonem obrysowujemy konturową farbą krawędzie. Ważna jest tutaj pewna ręka i równomierny nacisk na tubkę, u mnie trochę tego zabrakło. Czekamy aż wyschnie.

When the contour is fully dry fill the flakes with a glass paint. You need to balance the amount of paint, because when we'll give too much we'll get stains, and when we'll give too little it'll be too transparent.

Gdy kontury już w pełni wyschną zamalowujemy płatki farbką do szkła. Trzeba wyważyć jej ilość, bo gdy damy za dużo zrobią się zacieki, a gdy za mało będą prześwity.

Easter eggs inspiration

For me the coolest thing during Easter is the egg decorating. There is so many options to do that. That's why every year I try to make my eggs in a different way. One colour, traditional egg painting is a bit borring, so we can put a ribbon on it, or stick little paper dots and thank's to that we'll get a little masterpiece.

I present to you a portion of easter eggs, maybe they will inspire you to create some tiny works of art? On Saturday I'll show you my easter eggs this year. I can reveal to you that they will be dripping with gold and silver.

Najfajniejsze w Wielkanocy jest dla mnie dekorowanie jajek. Jest tyle różnych możliwości, co roku staram się przygotowywać pisanki w inny sposób. Jednobarwne, tradycyjnie pomalowane jajka są nudne, przewiążmy je wstążką, naklejmy kropeczki z wycinanek, a już staną się małymi arcydziełami.
